Konaklama işletmelerinde proaktif kriz yönetiminin algılanan çevresel belirsizliğe etkisi: Nevşehir ili örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışma konaklama işletmelerinin almış olduğu proaktif kriz önlemlerinin faaliyette bulundukları çevredeki koşulların meydana getirdiği belirsizlik durumlarını ne derecede etkilediğini konu edinmektedir. Araştırmanın teorik kısmında kriz yönetimi, proaktif kriz yönetimi, çevresel belirsizlik konularına yer verilmiştir. Araştırmaya ampirik düzeyde veri sağlamak amacıyla, Nevşehir İlinde görev yapan otel işletmesi yöneticileri üzerinde bir anket çalışması uygulanmıştır. Bu araştırma kapsamında 253 otel işletmesi yöneticisi araştırmanın örneklemi için belirlenmiştir. Araştırmadaki anket formlarının otel yöneticilerine elden bırakıp alma, yüz yüze anket uygulama ve e-posta gibi yöntemlerle toplanması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma verileri bilgisayar ortamında uygun analiz teknikleri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmada frekans ve yüzde dağılımları, standart sapma, korelasyon ve regresyon analizleri yapılmıştır. Yapılan korelasyon analizi sonucunda proaktif kriz yönetimi ile çevresel belirsizliğin boyutları arasında orta düzeyde ve negatif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yani otel işletmesi yöneticilerinin proaktif kriz yönetimine yönelik uygulamalar arttıkça çevresel belirsizlik algıları azalmaktadır. Yapılan basit regresyon analizi sonucunda proaktif kriz yönetiminin çevresel belirsizlik algısı içindeki tüm boyutlara (hükümet ve politikalar, ekonomi, hizmet ve kaynaklar, ürün pazarı ve talep, rekabet, teknoloji) olan etkisinin ters yönlü ve anlamlı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Yani proaktif kriz yönetimi uygulamaları arttıkça çevresel belirsizlik algıları azalmaktadır. Araştırma sonucunda yöneticilerin olası krizleri proaktif olarak yönetmeleri halinde çevresel koşullarda meydana gelen belirsizliklerle belirli oranda baş edebilecekleri tespit edilmiştir.

This study focuses on the degree to which the proactive crisis measures taken by the accommodation companies have affected the uncertainties caused by the conditions in the environment they operate. In the theoretical part of the study, crisis management, proactive crisis management, environmental uncertainty issues are mentioned. In order to provide empirical data to the research, a survey study was conducted on hotel management executives working in Nevşehir Province. In the scope of this study, 253 hotel management managers were determined for the sample of the study. It is aimed to collect the questionnaires in the research by hotel managers and to collect them by hand, face to face questionnaire and e-mail methods. Research data were analyzed using appropriate analysis techniques in computer base. In the study, frequency and percentage distributions, standard deviation, correlation and regression analyzes were performed. As a result of the correlation analysis, a moderate and negative relationship was found between the dimensions of proactive crisis management and environmental uncertainty. In other words, as applications of hotel management managers increase proactive crisis management, perceptions of environmental uncertainty are decreasing. As a result of simple regression analysis, it has been determined that the effect of proactive crisis management on all dimensions within the perception of environmental uncertainty (government and policies, economy, services and resources, product market and demand, competition, technology) is inversely and significantly. That is, as proactive crisis management practices increase, perceptions of environmental uncertainty are decreasing. As a result of the research, it was determined that the managers could cope with the uncertainties occurring in environmental conditions if they manage proactively the possible crises.
