Turist rehberlerinin işe tutkunluk ve iş-aile çatışma düzeylerinin yaşam doyumları üzerine etkisi

Abstract

Turist rehberi, ziyaretçi ile destinasyon arasında köprü vazifesi gören turizmin en önemli aktörlerindendir. Mesleği gereği turist rehberi zorlu ve uzun çalışma şartlarına sahiptir ve bu durum bazen rehberin aile hayatı ve işi arasında birtakım zorluklar yaşamasına neden olabilmektedir. İşe tutkunluk, kişinin işinde ne kadar kararlı, hevesli ve tutkulu olduğunu tanımlamak için kullanılan bir kavramdır. İş ve aile rollerinin dengeli bir biçimde yerine getirilmesindeki güçlükten kaynaklanan durum iş-aile çatışması olarak adlandırılmaktadır. Yaşam doyumu ise bireyin geçmişten ve gelecekten duyduğu memnuniyeti ifade etmektedir. Turist rehberlerinin işe tutkunluk ve iş-aile çatışma düzeylerinin yaşam doyumları üzerindeki etkisini belirleyebilmek bu çalışmanın amacını oluşturmaktadır. Bu kapsamda TUREB'e kayıtlı 376 eylemli turist rehberine anket uygulanarak veri elde edilmiştir. Araştırma bulguları sonucunda işe tutkunluk boyutlarından dinçlik, adanmışlık ve yoğunlaşmanın yaşam doyumu üzerinde pozitif yönde anlamlı etkiye sahip olduğu belirlenirken; iş-aile çatışması boyutlarından gerginlik temelli çatışmanın yaşam doyumu üzerinde negatif yönde anlamlı etkiye sahip olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Zaman temelli çatışma ve davranış temelli çatışma ile yaşam doyumu arasında ise anlamlı bir ilişki bulunamamıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlar neticesinde çeşitli öneriler sunulmuştur.

Tourist guide is one of the most important actors of tourism, which acts as a bridge between the visitor and the destination. Due to his/her profession, the tourist guide has tough and long working conditions, and this can sometimes cause the guide to have some difficulties between his/her family life and job. Work engagement is a concept used to describe how determined, enthusiastic and passionate a person is at his/her job. The situation arising from the difficulty in fulfilling the work and family roles in a balanced way is called work-family conflict. Life satisfaction, on the other hand, expresses the individual's satisfaction with the past and the future. To determine the effect of work engagement and work-family conflict levels of tourist guides on their life satisfaction constitutes the aim of this study. In this context, data were obtained by applying a questionnaire to 376 tourist guides registered to TUREB. As a result of the research findings, it has been determined that vigor, dedication and absorption, which are the dimensions of work engagement, have positive and significant effect on life satisfaction; while strain based conflict one of the dimensions of work-family conflict has been found to have a negative and significant effect on life satisfaction. On the other hand no significant relationship has been found between time-based conflict and behavior-based conflict and life satisfaction. As a result of the results obtained, various suggestions were made.
