Lojistik sektöründe Yalın Altı Sigma: Bir araç yükleme işletmesinde uygulama

Abstract

Lojistik sektöründeki faaliyetlerin müşteri istek ve beklentilerini karşılayacak şekilde hızlı, doğru ve zamanında yapılması gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle lojistik faaliyetler gerçekleştirilirken hatasız olmaları gerekmektedir. Lojistik hizmetten faydalanan müşteriler istek ve beklentilerinin zamanında, ucuz, hızlı, doğru ve hasarsız bir şekilde karşılanmasını istemektedir. Bu anlamda lojistik sektörü ve lojistik sektörünün alt sektörlerinde ortaya çıkacak herhangi bir hata hem müşteri üzerinde hem de lojistik firma üzerinde etki yaratacaktır. Bu kapsamda lojistik sektöründe bir alt sektör olan araç yükleme faaliyetleri lojistik sektörü için önem arz etmektedir. Lojistik sektöründe araç yükleme faaliyetlerinin iyileştirilebilmesi için yalın altı sigma yöntemi büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, lojistik sektöründe araç yükleme faaliyetlerine yalın altı sigma yöntemi uygulayarak proseslerin iyileştirilmesidir. Bu kapsamda lojistik sektörü içerisinde yer alan araç yükleme faaliyetine odaklanılmış ve İstanbul'da faaliyet gösteren ve lojistik firmalarına araç yükleme hizmeti veren bir işletmede uygulama gerçekleştirilmiştir. Altı sigma ve yalın üretim entegrasyonu sonucu oluşan yalın altı sigma yöntemi kullanılarak işletmenin depo yükleme, araç yükleme ve taşıma faaliyetlerinde iyileştirmeler yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bunun sonucunda çalışma ortamındaki israf azaltılmış, taşıma-yerleştirme süreleri kısaltılmış ve değer katmayan adımlar en aza indirilmiştir. Son olarak çalışmanın içerdiği birtakım kısıtlar ile gelecekte yapılacak çalışma önerilerine yer verilmiştir.

The activities in the logistics sector must be carried out quickly, accurately and on time to meet customer demands and expectations. For this reason, they must be error-free while performing logistics activities. Customers who benefit from logistics services want their requests and expectations to be met timely, cheaply, fastly, accurately and in an undamaged manner. In this sense, any mistake that will occur in the logistics sector and the sub-sectors of the logistics sector, will have an impact on both the customer and the logistics company. In this context, vehicle loading activities, a sub-sector in the logistics sector, is important for the logistics sector. Lean six sigma method is of great importance in order to improve vehicle loading activities in the logistics sector. The aim of this study is to improve the processes by applying lean six sigma method to vehicle loading activities in the logistics sector. In this context, the focus was on the vehicle loading activity in the logistics sector and an application was carried out in an enterprise operating in Istanbul and providing vehicle loading services to logistics companies. By using the lean six sigma method, which is the combination of the six sigma and the lean production, improvements have been made in the warehouse loading, vehicle loading and transportation activities of the enterprise. As a result, waste in the working environment has been reduced, transport-placement times have been shortened, and non-value-added steps have been minimized. Finally, some limitations of the study and suggestions for future studies are given.
