5.sınıf sosyal bilgiler ders kitabının türk kültür değerleri açısından incelenmesi

Abstract

Bir topluma ait kültürel değerler, o toplumun temelini oluşturan en önemli yapı taşlarıdır. Milletlerin devamlılığını sağlayan bu değerler, genç nesillerinde sağlam temeller üzerinde yaşamalarına olanak sunan unsurlardır. Buradan hareketle milletlere özgü kültürel ögeleri genç kuşaklara aktarmak, geçmiş ve gelecek arasında köprü vazifesini ifa etmek okulun en önemli hedeflerinden birisidir. Okul, kültürel unsurları genç kuşaklara aktarırken çok çeşitli öğretim materyallerinden de yararlanmaktadır. Kullanılan bu öğretim materyalleri arasında ders kitapları oldukça büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Ders kitapları, öğrencilerin kişisel gelişim özellikleri, içinde yaşadıkları toplumsal çevre faktörleri ile ülkedeki eğitim politikalarına paralel olarak hazırlanmaktadır. Okul aracılığı ile toplumda etkin vatandaş olmaları amacına yönelik yetiştirilen bireyler, o topluma özgü maddi ve manevi değerler doğrultusunda eğitilmelidir. Bu kapsamda, hazırlanan ders kitapları Türk milletine özgü maddi ve manevi değerleri bünyesinde barındırmalı ve yetiştirilen bireylerin toplumsal uyum sürecine katkı sunmalıdır. Sosyal bilgiler dersinin özü itibariyle kültür aktarımına dayanması, öğretim programında değer eğitimine yer vermesi oldukça önemlidir. Kültürel değerlerin genç nesillere aktarılmasını ve ulusal değerlerine bağlı etkin vatandaşların yetiştirilmesini hedefleyen sosyal bilgiler dersi kapsamında kullanılan kitaplarının da yol gösterici bir özelliğe sahip olması gerekmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Millî Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı ortaokulların beşinci sınıf seviyesinde okutulan Talim ve Terbiye Kurulu tarafından tavsiye edilen Sosyal bilgiler ders kitabını dil, yardımseverlik, saygı ve aile değerleri bakımından incelemektir. Bu araştırmada yer alan değerler, üç öğretim üyesi uzmandan görüş alınarak belirlenmiş ve bu değerler çerçevesinde Sosyal bilgiler ders kitabının görsel ve metin içerikleri bakımından incelenmesine dayanan nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi yapılmıştır. Yapılan çalışmada elde edilen veriler, çalışmanın alt problemlerine dayalı olarak kültürel değerleri yansıtıp yansıtmadığı bakımından incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın evrenini, Türkiye genelinde ortaokul beşinci sınıf seviyesinde kullanılan Sosyal bilgiler ders kitapları oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemini ise Kayseri ili Sarız ilçesi Yatılı İlköğretim Bölge Okulu'nda kullanılan öğretmen görüşlerine dayalı olarak belirlenen, Talim Terbiye Kurulunun tavsiyelerine dayalı ders kitabı oluşturmaktadır.

Cultural values belonging to a society are the most important building blocks that form the basis of that society. These values, which ensure the continuity of nations, are the elements that allow young generations to live on solid foundations. From this point of view, it is one of the most important goals of the school to transfer the cultural elements of the nations to the younger generations and to serve as a bridge between the past and the future. The school also benefits from a wide variety of teaching materials while transferring cultural elements to younger generations. Textbooks are of great importance among these teaching materials that are used. Textbooks are prepared in parallel with the personal development characteristics of the students, the social environment factors in which they live, and the education policies in the country. Individuals who are trained to be active citizens in the society through school should be educated in line with the material and moral values specific to that society. In this context, the prepared textbooks should contain the material and spiritual values specific to the Turkish nation and contribute to the social adaptation process of the individuals raised. It is very important that the social studies course is based on cultural transfer and includes value education in the curriculum. The books used within the scope of the social studies course, which aim to transfer cultural values to young generations and to raise active citizens who are loyal to their national values, should have a guiding feature. The aim of this study is to examine the Social Studies textbook recommended by the Board of Education and Discipline, which is taught at the fifth-grade level of secondary schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education, in terms of language, benevolence, respect and family values. The values included in this research were determined by taking the opinions of three faculty members and within the framework of these values, the social studies textbook was analyzed in terms of visual and textual contents. Document analysis was made from qualitative research methods based on research. The data obtained in the study were examined in terms of whether they reflect cultural values based on the sub-problems of the study. The universe of the study consists of social studies textbooks used at the fifth-grade level of secondary school throughout Turkey. The sample of the research consists of the textbook based on the recommendations of the Board of Education and Discipline, which was determined based on the opinions of the teachers used in the Sarız District Boarding Primary School in Kayseri.
