Savunma harcamaları ile ekonomik büyüme ilişkisi Türkiye üzerine bir uygulama

Abstract

Devletlerin oluşum süreci kadar eski olan ülkelerin savunma harcamaları, her zaman güncelliğini korumuş ve pek çok farklı görüşte yorumlanmıştır. Gerek iç gerekse dış güvenlik harcamaları devletlerin üzerinde yoğunlaşması gereken kritik konulardan birisi olarak literatürde geniş bir alanda yer tutmaktadır. Bu çalışmada Türkiye için gerçekleştirilen analizde savunma harcamalarının ekonomik büyümeye olan etkisi Markow rejim değişim yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar Türkiye için savunma harcamalarının ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu yönde etkilediğini göstermektedir. Çalışmanın Türkiye için, model ve analiz yöntemi ile olmak üzere ekonomik büyüme ve savunma harcamaları ilişkisi bağlamında literatüre özgün bir katkı sağlaması amaçlanmaktadır.

The defense expenditures of the countries, which are as old as the formation process of the states, have always been in sight and interpreted in many different views. Both internal and external security expenditures have a wide coverage in the literature as one of the critical issues to be focused on by the governments. In this study, the effect of the economic growth on defense spending in Turkey was examined by the analysis conducted using the Markow regime change method. The obtained results indicate that defense spending positively affect economic growth of Turkey. By this study, it is intended to provide an original contribution to the literature, including the models and methods, through an analysis of the economic growth and defense spending in Turkey.
